Knights Charge Through the Week Unblemished

It has been a dramatic post-season for the Knights men’s basketball team. They played back-to-back overtime games and won both.
Monday, March 9 they played Battle Creek Central. Then two days later they played Holt in the district semi-finals. On March 13 they played Jackson in the district championship pulling out the win in the final minutes of the game after trading shot for shot back and forth. The buzzer sounded with the final score 61-58 Norrix.
The Knights led the entire game, but in the fourth quarter, Jackson gave it everything they had, knocking down four three-pointers in a row to cut the Knights’ eighteen-point lead to a one point Jackson lead.
With high energy throughout the whole game, the Knights battled back to maintain the lead again and secure the win over Jackson 61-58.
Getting the win Friday night in the district championship made head coach Matt Covault the winningest coach in Loy Norrix history, and he claimed his 2nd district championship in ten years of coaching.
The Knights play the Kalamazoo Central Giants in the first round of regionals Monday, March 16 at 7:30 at Holt High School. There will be a fan bus leaving for Holt at 4:45 p.m. The cost is five dollars. This includes a ride to and from Holt High School and a ticket into the game. Tickets are available in the athletic office till the end of the school day.
Be there to support your Knights’ Basketball team, and be a part of the Knightmare student section.
