Imagine the lush green leaves forming into crisp, beautiful colors of orange, yellow, and red. The muggy Michigan weather is starting to cool down and being outside isn’t torturous. Fall is a time of the year that many people love and look forward to. There are many things that the fall may inspire such as activities, warmer clothes, and events.
Fall activities are another part people look forward to. Such as Haunted houses, harvest festivals, hunting, corn mazes, picking apples, carving pumpkins or even telling ghost stories at a bonfire with friends and family.
“My favorite fall activity is going to bonfires and drinking Pumpkin Spice Lattes,” said senior Kayleigh Dyer.
With along with several seasonal activities to enjoy, the weather starts to get more brisk outside. This means layers upon layers of clothes become popular once again
“My favorite thing about fall is the clothes. The plaid sweaters, leggings, and boot warmers,” said freshman Nadia Johnson.
Spooky nights and free candy. It’s a night for kids to believe in ghouls and ghosts and give themselves a great scare. Tricks, treats, and pranks bring delight (even to teenagers.)
“Halloween is my favorite part of fall. The leaves add a great effect to it all,” said sophomore Gaia Bogan.
Halloween has many different meanings for everyone. It may be an important holiday for Wiccan’s or just a fun night to collect candy and get some scares.
“It’s my favorite holiday. It’s also the time of year when I can have more fun, like dressing up, carving pumpkins. It’s also simply a time of year that means a lot to me spiritually because I’m Wiccan, It’s the equivalent to the New Year for me,” said senior Tate Spoone.
Wicca is about acceptance, harmony and a balanced way of life. It branched off from pagan beliefs.
The season is full of fun, and great memories. This time of the year is a great time to get together with friends, go to haunted houses, hay rides, or celebrate holidays with each other. All that matters is the memories made and smiles shared.
