This year’s track team is going all out, even with the new runners.

Track on a running streak? Have you heard about it? This year track team has been going all out. They have been winning back to back and placing in all events. In every meet so far the track team is placing greater than 10th place in the overall meets.

After ever practice it seems like everyone in all events is improving. The team is also improving as a whole and it’s really showing.

“We are currently undefeated, I can see the team being dominant this track season,” said senior Lee Jones.

Compared to last year’s track team, everything is different. This year there are a lot more beginners, mostly freshmen. Last year the team won two invitationals throughout the whole season. Now it’s still the beginning of the season and they have already won two invitationals.

“We not as organized as we were last year, but we have a bond with each other,” said senior Jordan Larkin.

Senior Zack Skinner is on the track and field team here at Loy Norrix. He was also on the team last year. He hasn’t seen much of a different between last year’s track team and this year’s team. Zack Skinner is a pole vaulter. This year during meets, his highest record is 14 meters. In general, during practices his highest record is 14.5 meters.

“We are one of the top teams in this year’s season,” Skinner said.
