Forensics Team to Hold “Forensics Knight”

Ever wonder what those crazy Forensics kids do at five thirty in the morning on a Saturday? Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to do with science or the legal system (well, at least not in the way you might suspect….)

Forensics is competitive speech and debate. The Loy Norrix forensics team has had tremendous success this season. On April 14th, the team attended Regionals at Portage Central. Nils Miron received third in oratory, Mariah Issac and Josh Johnson earned second in poetry and storytelling respectively, and the multiple earned first. Amyre Dennis and Jordan Swope were both alternatives, earning fifth.

The  Loy Norrix Forensics team is hosting a “Forensics Knight” on Tuesday, May 1st at 7:30 p.m. in room J-12 (the choir room). A suggested $3.00 donation will help fund the team’s trip to Mackinac in May.

The event will give students, teachers, parents and all of the Kalamazoo community an opportunity to see the pieces performed through the team throughout the season, as well as providing more practice for the students who have already qualified for the State tournament.

The team has had a successful season thus far and would love your support!
