The Don Lukens meet was last Friday for our track teams. There was tough competition from all over the state. Of the 17 schools that attended, our girls finished 7th with 35 points and our boys finished 3rd with 75 points. With the women’s team, we scored in 3 out of 4 relays, Ana got first in the 3200 and 4th in the 800 with personal bests in both, and Eloise, Helen, and Sofia scored in their events. With the men, only 2 relays scored but one was first and the other was 3rd. They scored in every individual event except the 1600, 200, and 400. Trevor got second in both hurdle events and the long jump, James was first in high jump, Jackson and Danny scored in the 3200, and Carlton scored in the 100. THe highlight of the meet was Sam winning the 800 in the last hundredth of a second, setting the new meet record, and taking home the individual male athlete of the meet award.
