There will be an Interact club meeting today in the cafeteria at 2:30 pm. Members and interested students can also attend. For those who don’t know, INTERACT. It is an arm of Rotary Club International for students leaders in high schools.

Chess Club meets after school today in Computer Lab D10. Anyone may attend, and anybody who beats Mr. Bellware wins a customized chess board.

Seniors! Nominations for yearbook senior mock elections are happening today during all three lunches! Nominate yourself or your friends for categories like “class parents,” “best dressed,” and “most chill.” See a Yearbook staff member at lunch for a form, or visit K5W during your lunch to pick one up.

Attention Book Quiz Bowl members: please meet in Mrs. Sharpe’s room today after school.

Juniors – are you interested in dual enrollment for next year? Not sure of your next steps or how to sign up? Please come to our dual enrollment information session Friday, February 14 during 2nd period in the cafeteria. Sign up in the counseling office today!

Attention students: If you plan to apply for an EFE for next year please make sure your application is submitted to the counseling office. Spaces are limited so get yours in as soon as possible. The deadline for all applications is Monday, February 17.

Students as you are finishing your course request for next year and still debating on if that AP class is for you sign up for our APeek day. Go sit in an AP class for 15 minutes and see what it’s all about. Sign up in the counseling office!

Attention graduating Seniors: If you have an interest in speaking at your commencement ceremony, you need to sign-up in room B18 by Thursday, February 27.

It’s February, and you know what that means – Valentine’s Day is almost here! Are you looking for a fun, thoughtful, and unique way to show someone you care? Then let the Loy Norrix Choir take care of that for you. We’ll sweetly serenade your special someone and your friends with a Singing Valentine during classes on February 14. Singing Valentines cost just $3 for a song and a Hershey’s kiss, or $5 for a song and a full-size chocolate bar, and they can be purchased during all three lunches. To send a valentine off-campus, phone Valentines are also available for $5. See a Loy Norrix Choir member or Ms. Pelligrino for more information!

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and if you have that one special person and want to let them know how special they are to you, then Green school has got you covered. You can stop by the table during your lunch and buy a flower, candy and add an anonymous note for as little as $2 for a flower or $3 for a flower, candy and a card.

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? It should be YOU! Come watch the Michigan premiere of the production, “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” and see your incredible classmates tell a story focused on race, family and love. There are shows on Thursday, February 13, Friday, February 14, and Saturday, February 15, at 7pm, and Sunday, February 16 at 2pm. Tickets are only $7 with Saturday being discounted for only $5 with your student ID! Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Please see Mrs. Carrow in J11 if you have any questions.

Seniors, are you planning to attend Western Michigan University in the Fall of 2020? If so, check your email and sign up with Miss Nesbitt for an WMU/K Promise Scholars appointment. WMU will be here this Friday to assess students’ needs and assist in completing their Scholarship Acceptance Form. The SAF is the legal binding document which allows for The Promise to cover your college tuition. If it is not completed The Promise cannot cover your tuition.

Serious Fun is a way for us as a school to make a difference in the lives of terminally ill or seriously ill children. The donations you give help provide them a chance to go to camp, have medical help to be there and to have some fun and just be a child NOT just a sick child. The winning class with the most donations will receive a pizza party. The top donating students in the building will receive a special thank you from Serious Fun! The top five donating classes from our pick up today are: Mr. Neel, Mrs. Bain/Mrs. Claudio, Mrs. Carrow, Mr. Peterson/Mrs. May and Mr. Allen/Mrs. May in 1st place. Pick up for donations are each Tuesday and Thursday ending on Tuesday March 3rd.
