Students at Loy Norrix said hello to a full week of school this past Monday, February 9. The last three weeks consisted of half days and snow days and this caused many to forget what a normal week of school feels like Monday through Friday.
On Saturday, February 7, Norrix celebrated the Winter Fest basketball game to wrap up last week’s spirit days and competitions. At half time of the game on Saturday, senior Ciara Baker was crowned Winter Fest Queen and senior Malike Tolin was crowned King. The senior class of 2015 took in the most spirit points throughout the week and won the spirit jug.
This week at LN the Teens for Jeans drive continues where students can bring in old denim to be donated. The National Honor Society is running this event and picks up the jeans from first hours across the school on Fridays.
Knight Life News put finishing touches on our third issue of the school year and it was distributed on Thursday, February 12. The snow days put us behind but we all came together, worked hard, and issue three has been born.
Thoughts of Valentine’s Day has been buzzing and lovers gifted their sweethearts today, Friday 13, if they won’t see them over the weekend to celebrate to day of love.
The Loy Norrix Link Crew is preparing to host speaker Blake Fly next week from a TED X Conference. Fly will be here Tuesday, February 17. More to come on that from Knight Life Reporter Audra Penny next week after the event.
Spotted: Joe Trimner and Cameron Belson ditching lunch for something better. J and C are found posted up outside of the Guidance Office instead of being in the cafeteria during 2nd Lunch. About a month ago, Joe started working at Bittersweet Ski Resort for the park crew where he helps maintain the terrain park. Cameron got a snowboard for Christmas so you can find them both at bittersweet during the winter months. Hit the slopes!
