In middle school I was introduced to the brand Ambecrombie and Fitch. Some of the clothes are tasteful with a cool design, flannel or just a plain shirt. On the other hand they sell shirts that are nothing more than advertisement.
The most obnoxious clothing items are the T-shirts that have “A&F 1892” written on it. Out of all of the abstract clothes in the world, Ambecrombie and Fitch seems to have the most elementary designs for teenagers and young adults. This brand appears to have the same graphic design on every piece of clothing just in a different color.
Senior Isaac Ruiz said, “I don’t like Ambecrombie and Fitch because it’s overrated.”
I have never seen a commercial for Ambecrombie and Fitch probably because they do all of their advertisement on their clothes. Mike Jefferson, the owner of Ambecrombie and Fitch, should be paying his customers for wearing his T-shirts because it’s nothing more than the name brand on the T-shirts.
“I like Ambercrombie and Fitch because their jeans fit really nice and I like the designs on their clothing that doesn’t have their name all over it. Either way I still really like the store,” said Hailey Timmerman.
On top of my lack of appreciation for the design of these clothes, I can’t stand Mike Jefferson because he says he will not make any clothing over the size large because he is only marketing to the “Thin and beautiful,” teenagers.
“Candidly, we go after the cool kids… a lot of people don’t belong [in our clothes], and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely,” said Jefferson.
Stop buying clothing from Ambecrombie and Fitch because when you do, you are supporting a man who supports insecurities.
