There will be an important meeting for Youth in Government tomorrow, Jan. 30, after school in Mrs. Johnson’s room, D18. If you are planning to attend the conference in Lansing next week, be sure to attend the meeting tomorrow.
There will be an Esports Club meeting after school on Thursday, Feb. 1 in Mr. Wood’s room, C19. We will discuss our MiHSEF spring season, our Mario Kart tournament and any potential future events. If you are interested in joining us, come to C19 and find out more.
There will be no Yarn Club after school today due to a staff meeting.
The Knight Wrestlers had a busy weekend. Last Friday, the Lady Knights wrestled at Bangor. Jessica White and Heaven Cole dominated, both pinning their way to 1st place. On Saturday, the ladies wrestled hard again at Fennville, with Heaven Cole securing 1st, while Jessica White earned 2nd. Additionally, the boys wrestled at Lake Odessa the same day: on the JV side, Robert Pounds got 1st, while Aidan Unangst came in 2nd. As for the Varsity team, Dennis Allen-Womack, Darik Smith, and Nasir Spurlock all placed 3rd, with Wyatt Buddemeier placing 4th. Their last home meet will be this Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. for Senior Night.
The skiing teams will compete this week in a League Race on Wednesday at Timber Ridge beginning at 4:30 p.m. Last week, sophomore Sam Oberlee finished first and freshman Luke Buytendorp finished second to help the team finish second overall. Additionally, the women’s team was able to secure a 4th place finish last week, and look to improve their finish for the MHSAA Regional in two weeks.
There will be no AAC today due to a staff meeting.
The Sword and Board Club will meet Thursday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in room C16. All tabletop gamers and games are invited to join.
The men’s bowling team competed against Portage Northern earlier this week, winning in a decisive victory as they took the lead early and never looked back. They only lost points during one baker game, winning all other games. Hunter Conolly led the way with a score of 203. Devin Harris also led with games of 200 and 209. The women’s team also put up a good fight, but struggled to secure a win due to a lack of players. Additionally, the men’s team also competed in the Portage Northern Invitational. Out of 14 schools, The boys qualified for 2nd place with a total score of 3040. Unfortunately, they were eliminated in the 1st round of finals. Hunter Conolly finished in 1st place, and Devin Harris finished in 7th.
