Today, May 16th the Loy Norrix Drumline AND the Loy Norrix Colorguard are hosting open drumming and spins for any interested students. If you’re interested in being the Marching Band Drumline or Colorguard this Summer and Fall, come on out and give it a try. No experience necessary. We’d love to see you in J10 today right after school!

Hey seniors! Your library books are now overdue, please bring any and all library books to the library. You can email Mr. Kreider or Ms. Landis with any questions.

Seniors – it’s time to get your ticket to this year’s Grad Bash, which is an all night post graduation party, with lots of fun for everyone! Tickets are only $30 and will be sold during lunch today, tickets can be bought on the KPS website also.

The EFA Spring Dance Concert will be in Kasdorf Auditorium on Wednesday, May 25th at 6:00pm. The Spring Dance Concert will showcase dance styles such as Lyrical, Contemporary, AfroBeat, Ballet, and Hip Hop! Hope to see you there.

The Loy Norrix athletic department is hiring student helpers for the 2022-2023 fall season. If you are interested in being an announcer, working in the concession stand or being an assistant please apply. These are paid positions. You can find the QR code posted in the athletic office.

If you are interested in attending Blue Lake Camp for the Arts and you are going for the first time, see Ms. Van Lieu in A-12 before and after school for a $400 scholarship.

Travel Club 2022 for Italy and France will have a group meeting on May 25th at 6pm in room A-12. You will be getting your final information before departure. We are 30 days away from lift off. RSVP Ms. Van Lieu.

Travel Club 2023 for Spain and Portugal is enrolling students and interested adults now. Early enrollment locks in your price on this really fantastic adventure. Scholarships, fundraising and 3 free college credits are waiting for you. See Ms. Holmes A-15 or Mrs. Lewis C-15 for enrollment packets

The Loy Norrix track teams competed in the SMAC Championship track meet on Saturday at Portage Central High School. The women’s team finished 9th with 36 points and the men’s team finished 6th with 49.5 points.

The women’s team scored in all 4 relays with the best finish in the 4x400m relay in 5th place. Additional medals were earned by Jaelynn Smith in the 100 hurdles and Ana Dunfee in the 1600. The only field event to score was Lily Daniels and Ella Hawthorne in pole vault getting 7th and 4th respectively. The top women’s event was the 400m where Ella Adalbert and Annaliese Bol earned 4th and 6th respectively both getting their season’s best times.

Kevin Lucas scored in both the 100m and 200m dash while Kayo Higgins scored in both the 110 and 300 hurdle races. Thomas Bannon medaled in pole vault as did the 4×800 meter relay. Trevor Watts and Sam Allen followed up their individual medal performances in the 110 hurdles and 800 respectively with a conference title in the 4×400 meter relay with Hank Perkins and James Rocco. Speaking of James Rocco, he jumped a personal best and conference title individually in high jump.

The teams compete next Friday, again at Portage Central, for the regional meet and a chance to go to state. Please congratulate all of our athletes on a great season, meet, and wish them the best coming up this week.
