Do you need volunteer hours, or just want to improve your community? Knights of the Neighborhood is a club that represents Norrix in Kalamazoo. Our meetings are on Tuesdays from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in room B13.

Are you interested in sewing, knitting, embroidering, crocheting, and more? Come to room A20 after school on Mondays. There will be homemade baked goods. If you have any supplies, you’re welcome to bring them. Please email Mrs. Corstange with any questions.

Kalamazoo United Hockey tryouts are as follows:

  • Today from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. @ Wings West
  • Thursday, Nov. 2 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. @ Wings West

The cost is $60, payable to the Maroon Foundation, and due on the first night of tryouts.

Men’s Basketball tryouts are a few weeks away. You can pick up a schedule and paperwork you need in the athletic office in order to participate. Tryouts will be Nov. 13 to 15 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Before tryouts, you should file your physical, register through Planet High School, and pay your insurance fee.

Are you interested in running for office someday or working in politics? Our Youth in Government team is a fun and exciting way to learn about how to be an elected official and get laws passed. This year, our Youth in Government team has a lot planned and is ready to compete against hundreds of other Michigan students in the actual chambers of the Michigan Capitol. Come find out more at our Youth in Government meeting after school today in Mrs. Johnson’s room, D18.

Interested in wrestling this winter? There will be conditioning and tryouts today though Thursday from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. in the auxilary gym. First official practice is Nov. 13 from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. All are welcome.

The SMAAC conference recently voted on All-District teams for volleyball. Congratulations to Zoe Reeves and McKenna Bradley for making the East Division’s 2nd team and to Riley Ketchum, Sophia DeAnda and Taliyah Hanks for receiving honorable mentions. Their next match is at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1 at Gull Lake versus Portage Northern.

AAC will be open today for tutoring in the following rooms: math in M12W, English in B11, science in B14, ESL support in K1, Spanish in K12, and study hall in C16.

The Sword and Board club will meet this Thursday in room C16 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. All tabletop gamers and games are invited to join.
