Effective with the start of the second trimester, Loy Norrix will be starting enhanced enforcement of the ban of hats and hoods. Please adhere to this expectation daily.
Books are now available for the Loy Norrix Book Club, which will begin on Dec. 19. Please see Ms. Coash in the library if you would like to join.
AAC will be open for tutoring today from 230-330 in the following rooms: science in C17, social studies in K13, ESL support in K5W, Spanish in A18, SAT math prep in B13, and study hall in D12.
The Sword and Board club will meet today from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in room C16. All tabletop gamers and games are invited to join.
Don’t worry if you missed “Oklahoma!” this weekend: the student musical will be playing for three more nights this week! Performances are this Thursday, Friday and Saturday night at 7:00 p.m in the Loy Norrix auditorium. Thursday night is student night, which means all students can see the show for the discounted price of 5 dollars.
The deadline to submit senior photos and quotes to the 2024 Accolade Yearbook has been extended to December 31. This is the final deadline. Submit using the Google Form in your email. Please email [email protected] if you have any questions.
Auditions for the Loy Norrix Forensics team are just around the corner! If public speaking, acting, and performing are your jam, then you will definitely want to try out for the team. Auditions are after school on Tuesday, Dec. 12 in the choir room, J12. Stop by room J11 to pick up an audition packet from Mr. Lafferty or to ask any questions.
Green School will meet today after school in Room B14. All are welcome.
Knight wrestlers begin their wrestling season having had a hard fought match, losing to Thornapple Kellogg 44-13. The Knights regrouped and rallied back, beating Caledonia 61-18. The undefeated wrestlers on the night were Avery Greer, Aiden Unangst, Darick Smith, Nevin Kelley, Conrado Carillo and Will Dominianni.
Western Michigan University’s early action deadline is only a couple of weeks away. Seniors interested in applying to WMU must complete their application and submit it by December 15th to qualify for admission scholarships, receive a priority invitation to join the Lee Honors College, and/or be considered for the Aviation Flight Science or direct admission to the Bronson School of Nursing.
Did you get cut from a winter sport? Grades not good enough to do a school sport? Looking for a way to get or stay fit over the winter before spring comes? Come to indoor track practice. This is a running club that helps people be fit and healthy. We don’t just run: we throw, lift, jump, and do many things that make you more flexible, stronger, faster and leaner. We meet at the 4-corners on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 2:30 to 4:15 p.m. Distance conditioning is also held from 2:30 to 4:15 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. There is also an added bonus of competitions later if you are interested.
