On Wednesday, our choirs went to District Choir Festival. They performed two songs and were scored by judges. Advance Choir received a 1 rating and earned 103 out of 120 possible points. Master Singers also received a 1 rating and scored 113 out of 120 points. We are so proud of our choir students! —

The Loy Norrix Black Student Union will have its next meeting today, Thursday, February 10th from 2:30-3:30 in Ms Evans Room, K11. If you want to make your voice heard in terms of student representation at Norrix and have a good time building a sense of community, come join us. Allies are welcome as well. AAC will be open today from 230-330. If you need after school tutoring, please check with your teachers for the room schedules.

Lacrosse conditioning is canceled today. Lacrosse practices will start as scheduled on March 14th. All lacrosse players should be registered on planeths.com to be cleared for practices

Green School will meet today, Thursday in room B-14 from 2:30-3:30. All are welcome, come and join the fun!

Seniors, are you interested in being one of our student speakers at our graduation ceremony this year? If so, please sign up with Mr. Kitzman in room B-18 by March 1st so that you can audition.

If you are interested in applying for AP Art during the 2022/23 school year, please stop by and see Mr. Stevens in room A-21 to schedule a portfolio review. All students who are interested must go through the portfolio review process to be considered. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact Mr Stevens via email or stopping by A-21

March is Women’s History Month. Third period classes will be competing in a door decorating contest to show off important women and information. Doors need to be done end of the day on March 4th and the winning class will get a celebratory breakfast on the day of your final.

Seniors check your email for a message from Mrs. Anderson called Senior Showcase. It is your chance to upload a picture that you would like posted in our building to celebrate all the graduating seniors.

Attention next year Juniors and Seniors. A new advanced Geology class will be offered next year here at Loy Norrix. It is a two trimester class covering many exciting topics in the Geosciences. Upon completion you will have an opportunity to test for 4 college credits. Why take Geology?

Geology is a highly visual, hands-on science that studies real-world problems.
Starting salaries of geosciences are on par with chemists and exceed biologists.
60,000 geoscientists will be needed for the national workforce by 2030
If you took Earth Science and really enjoyed it, consider taking Geology. Contact Mrs. Young in M14 for more details.
