The weight room is open for any athlete on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The Sword and Board Club will meet Thursday, Feb. 8 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in room C16. All tabletop gamers and games are invited to join.
The Loy Norrix Travel Club will be going to the Galapagos Islands this summer from Jul. 15 through Jul. 22. There are still spots available. The cost is $4,900.00, and you will have the opportunity to earn college credit. If you are interested in signing up, please check out the WorldStrides website and use code Kalamazoo-2024 to register. Please email Rebecca Learner in the Counseling Office for more information and she will schedule a time to meet with you this week or next.
The Class of 2027 will be hosting the Winterfest dance in just a couple of weeks, on Feb. 16 from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. Tickets will be on sale for $15 apiece at all three lunches starting Monday, Feb. 12 and continuing until the day of the event. Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $20. There will also be a gift card raffle for several businesses, including Barnes & Noble, WingStop and Target. This week is National School Counseling Week. Make sure you thank your counselor for promoting access and equity for all and creating a school culture of success.
If you are a graduating senior interested in speaking at your commencement ceremony, you need to sign up in room B18 by Tuesday, Feb. 27.
AAC will be open today from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. for tutoring in the following rooms: Math in K4, Science in C17, Social Studies in K13, ESL Support in K5W, Spanish in A18, SAT Math Prep in B13 and Study Hall in D12.
If you are attending the Youth in Government trip to Lansing, you should read and reply to your email from Mrs. Johnson as soon as possible. You should also check the Youth in Government Google Classroom page for important messages regarding the trip. Our bus leaves from school Thursday morning at 9:15 a.m.
WIDA testing will be next week on Tuesday, Feb. 13 and Wednesday, Feb. 14. You will complete reading and listening on Tuesday and speaking and writing on Wednesday. Your first or second hour teacher will give you an invitation with your testing times. Keep this invitation to use as a pass to the test.
The varsity basketball team is traveling across town to play against Kalamazoo Central at 7:00 p.m. tonight. The student section theme is “pink out.” The basketball team is encouraging everyone, including teachers, to show up and be loud all game long!
