Effective with the start of the second trimester, Loy Norrix will be starting enhanced enforcement of the ban of hats and hoods. Please adhere to this expectation daily.

Books are now available for the Loy Norrix Book Club, which will begin on Dec. 19. Please see Ms. Coash in the library if you would like to join.

AAC will be open for tutoring from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. today in the following rooms: English in B21, math in B13, science in C17, social studies in K13, ESL support in K5W, Spanish in A18, testing in A19, and study hall in C16.

The Sword and Board club will meet this Thursday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in room C16. All tabletop gamers and games are invited to join.

Don’t worry if you missed “Oklahoma!” this weekend: the student musical will be playing for three more nights this week! Performances are this Thursday, Friday and Saturday night at 7:00 p.m in the Loy Norrix auditorium. Thursday night is student night, which means all students can see the show for the discounted price of 5 dollars.

The deadline to submit senior photos and quotes to the 2024 Accolade Yearbook has been extended to December 31. This is the final deadline. Submit using the Google Form in your email. Please email [email protected] if you have any questions.

There will be a student-parent meeting for all interested in playing for the women’s soccer team this spring. It will be this Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

There will be a Youth in Government meeting today after school in Mrs. Johnson’s room, D18.

Fall athletes who earned a 3.5 GPA or higher will receive an email inviting them to be honored at halftime during Tuesday’s girls varsity basketball game. We look forward to seeing you there.

Auditions for the Loy Norrix Forensics team are just around the corner! If public speaking, acting, and performing are your jam, then you will definitely want to try out for the team. Auditions are after school on Tuesday, Dec. 12 in the choir room, J12. Stop by room J11 to pick up an audition packet from Mr. Lafferty or to ask any questions.

GSA will meet today, Dec. 5, and also on Dec. 19 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in K1. Please email Mrs. Kruger or Mrs. Bergh for the Google Classroom code if you want to see further announcements about the club. This week we will be looking for a student leader, so please complete the Google Form in the GSA Google Classroom if you are interested in a leadership role.

Did you get cut from a winter sport? Grades not good enough to do a school sport? Looking for a way to get or stay fit over the winter before spring comes? Come to indoor track practice. This is a running club that helps people be fit and healthy. We don’t just run: we throw, lift, jump, and do many things that make you more flexible, stronger, faster and leaner. We meet at the 4-corners on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 2:30 to 4:15 p.m.  Distance conditioning is also held from 2:30 to 4:15 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. There is also an added bonus of competitions later if you are interested. 

The library will be closed Wednesday, December 6, due to meetings.
