You have the opportunity to be mentored in your chosen discipline. Gold Medal winners qualify to go to the national convention. See Ms. Van Lieu A12 for information on how to register.

There will be a Book Quiz Bowl meeting in Mrs. Sharpe’s room, A10 today after school. We will also meet on Sunday, January 26 at 2:00 pm in Mr. Shack’s room.

Dance tickets are on sale at all 3 lunches in the cafeteria. $5 all week but $10 at the door. The dance will start after the game and will end to 11 pm.

Travel Club 2020 and 2021 will have a parent information meeting tonight, Tuesday at 7:00 pm in room A12. This will be for both Scandinavia and Italy. Tell Mr. Hernandez or Ms. Van Lieu if you and your parent will attend. Scholarships are available now.

Interested in questions such as what makes life worth living, what makes something funny, or what does it mean to be a friend? Then philosophy club is for you! Each week we will be looking at the questions people are interested in answering and discussing them in a safe space. If you are interested, the next meeting will be Wednesday, January 22 in Mr. Z’s room B17. Anyone is welcome.

Are you looking for a place to discuss the social and cultural aspects and impacts of contemporary music and musicians such as Frank Ocean and Kendrick Lamar? Come join the Anatomize Music Club on Tuesdays from 2:30 – 4:00 pm in J12, the choir room. All are welcome!

Softball conditioning will meet in the weight room on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school to get in shape for the spring season. Participation is optional but encouraged. Softball open gym is every Sunday from 3:00 – 5:00 pm starting. See Coach Johnson in C12 if you have any questions.

The Loy Norrix Conservatives will be meeting this Thursday after school in D18. Everybody is welcome.

Have you wanted to get back in shape? Do you need to get or stay in condition for a spring sport? Have you wondered about track but didn’t want to commit to the whole season and team? Meet at the four-corners area after school from 2:40 – 4:10 pm. We are a group of athletes and coaches interested in training to get faster, stronger, and more agile. Try it out any day of the week and enjoy good socialization and hard work. Don’t wait. Join us and improve.

Young men! Do you want to develop your leadership skills and refine your self-image, social skills and environmental awareness? Join other young men from Kalamazoo Central and Phoenix High School by joining Kappa League. For more information and an application see Ms. Middleton in the counseling office.

Freshman and Senior Tee shirts are on sale until January 30. Pick up an order form around school or in A12.
