Chess Club meets today from 2:20 to 3:30 in D10.
ACT-SO Scholarship Program for African American Students is now seeking talented individuals to participate in the annual program. There are 27 categories. ACT-SO is the youth division of the NAACP. You have the opportunity to be mentored in your chosen discipline. Gold Medal winners qualify to go to the national convention. See Ms. Van Lieu A12 for information on how to register.
Interested in questions such as what makes life worth living, what makes something funny, or what does it mean to be a friend? Then philosophy club is for you! Each week we will be looking at the questions people are interested in answering and discussing them in a safe space. If you are interested, we will be meeting today Wednesday, January 22 after school in Mr. Z’s room in B17. Anyone is welcome.

Dance tickets are on sale at all 3 lunches in the cafeteria. $5 all week but $10 at the door. The dance will start after the game and will end at 11:00 pm.
Softball conditioning will meet in the weight room on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school to get in shape for the spring season. Participation is optional but encouraged. Softball open gym is every Sunday from 3:00 – 5:00 pm. See Coach Johnson in C12 if you have any questions.
The Loy Norrix Conservatives will be meeting this Thursday after school in D18. Everybody is welcome.

Meet at the four-corners area after school from 2:40 – 4:10 pm. We are a group of athletes and coaches interested in training to get faster, stronger, and more agile. Try it out any day of the week and enjoy good socialization and hard work. Don’t wait. Join us and improve.
Young men! Do you want to develop your leadership skills and refine your self-image, social skills and environmental awareness? Join other young men from Kalamazoo Central and Phoenix High School by joining Kappa League. For more information and an application see Ms. Middleton in the counseling office.
Attention all Sophomores and Juniors. The Third 90 Network Program is now taking applications for the Spring Team. We are looking for 20 students who are motivated, have a positive attitude, make good grades, work well in a team setting, responsible, and not afraid to try new things. The Third 90 program will give you an opportunity to participate in meaningful projects in environmental sustainability. The team works with college faculty and college students. There will be 2 visits to the Kalamazoo Nature Center, 2-3 college campus visits and 2 after school workshops. If you are interested, pick up an application in M14, Mrs. Young’s room or K10 Ms. Nelson’s room. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, January 31.
