Chess Club meets today from 2:20 – 3:30 pm. Anybody may attend, and anyone who beats Mr. Bellware wins a customized chess board.

The Interact club will be meeting today at 2:30 pm in the cafeteria. Ms. Christina, Rotary Club member will be in our meeting with spaghetti. Our community service at the Kalamazoo Gospel mission will be next Wednesday, March 11. Any and all interested students are welcome to join us.

Ms. Learner will be running after school GRAD Point today from 2:30 – 4:30 pm in K5W. GRAD Point WILL NOT be held on Thursday this week.

Attention students: If you are applying to Early Middle College all applications are due by Friday, March 6 in the counseling office.

GSA is cancelled this week.

Wow, Loy Norrix as a school we will be donating $1.765.43 to Serious Fun for terminally and seriously ill children in developing countries. We will finish this effort with a pizza luncheon on Monday, March 9. If your teacher emailed Mrs. May about your donation total you will join the top 2 donating classes. Here are the top 10 donating classes out of 58 classes- in 10th place Mrs. Fraizer’s classes, 9th place Mrs. Carrow’s classes, 8th place Mr. Kitzman’s classes, 7th place Mrs. Bain and Mrs. Claudio’s classes, 6th place Mr. Hernandez’s classes, 5th place Mr. Peterson and Mrs. May’s classes, 4th place Mr. Leanders’ classes, 3rd place Mr. Allen and Mrs. May’s classes, and in the top 2 spots is Mr. Rashad’s classes in 2nd place, and jumping into 1st place Mrs. Riley’s classes!!! Thank you for all that donated. Your efforts will make a huge difference for children in need! Who says young adults can make a difference.

Do you need community service? This Saturday there are two opportunities to earn service hours – look outside Mrs. May’s door by the C-wing computer lab for more information on working at the Kalamazoo Nature Center for Maple Sugaring in the morning and dressing like a career choice to share with children at the KPS 1st Saturday Literacy Day in the afternoon.

Attention all students: Make sure you have reviewed your trimester three schedule. The last day that counselors will be taking schedule change request is Monday, March 9. Don’t wait until the start of the new trimester if you need changes.

Softball tryouts begin next Monday, from 2:45 – 5:00 pm. We will meet outside the girls locker room. You must have a physical on file and insurance paid in the athletic office to try out. See coach Johnson in C12 if you have questions.

Baseball tryouts are March 9. Stop in the Athletic office for more information.

Join the Anti-bullying club for a movie and snacks on March 10 in D11 at 2:30 pm. All are invited!

Varsity golf tryouts will be March 9 and 10 at the Dome in Schoolcraft at 3:00 pm. JV golf tryouts will be on March 11 and 12 at the Dome at 3:00 pm. Any questions, go see Coach Peterson in the TV room or get a hold of Coach Kubiak.
