Chess Club will be held today during all three lunches in room D10. Anybody may attend, and anyone who beats Mr. Bellware will win a custom-made chess board.

Our women’s soccer team has a home conference game tonight against Portage Central High school. JV starts at 5:00 p.m. and varsity starts at 6:30 p.m. Come out and enjoy the nice weather and support our Knights as they look to continue their awesome season.

The library will be closed during the first three class periods today due to AP practice testing.

Our baseball team split with the visitors from Gull Lake last night. Losing the first game, the Knights were able to bounce back, taking the second game 6-1. Norrix was led to victory by junior Jackson Bennett who started and pitched six innings, allowing just one run and striking out six batters. Our team was led at the plate by junior Sayani Jones and senior Lucas Frankart, who both hit towering home runs to surge the Knights to victory. The boys will be back in action tomorrow at home against Portage Central.

AAC will be open today for tutoring from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the following rooms: Math in B13, Science in B14, Social Studies in C19, English in D10, Spanish in A18 and Study Hall in B22.

The Sword and Board club will meet this Thursday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in room C16. We are looking for more people for Magic the Gathering and Pokemon TCG to play the remainder of the trimester. If you play either of these, please consider stopping by! All other gamers and games are still invited to join.

The time has come for the celebration of the year! The Class of 2024 will host a masquerade ball prom to remember. Tickets are $50 and guess passes may be purchased until Wednesday, May 1. Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $60. All attendees must have an ID and guest passes will not be allowed for purchase at the door.

The Loy Norrix Esports club is holding another Pokemon tournament after school on Thursday, May 16 in Mr. Wood’s room, C19. Have you ever wanted to visit a castle? Travel Club will be visiting four different castles as they travel to Ireland and Scotland in the summer of 2025. This educational trip will be 12 days long. Scholarships and financial aid are available. Students can earn 3 college credits, and teachers can earn 3 CEUs. Informational packets can be found by the main office, near the bathrooms by the cafeteria and outside room D11. Students may contact Ms. Ward in D11 or Mrs. Learner in the guidance office for more information; there will also be an informational parent meeting Wednesday, May 8 at 6:30 p.m. in room D11.

Teachers, if you would like Ms. Ward to come to your 2nd hour class and give a brief talk about the Ireland/Scotland trip, please send her an email.

The Kalamazoo Promise Signing Day event is approaching. All seniors are invited to attend the event downtown at the Arcadia Festival Site on May 10. There will be live music, karaoke, a lip sync battle, raffles, food trucks, carnival games and more. Please make sure if you are Promise eligible, your Promise Application and Scholarship Acceptance Form are submitted before the day of the event. Please reach out to Coach Moore for more information.

The Foosball Club will meet on Mondays from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in room B14! Anyone is welcome, but we prefer people who want a poster of their face. Possible side effects of playing foosball include becoming unreasonably awesome, meeting new people and an increased engagement in friendly banter. For more information, join the Google Classroom using code s4dfu3p or contact club captain Felix Bahrou.
