Chess Club will be held today during all three lunches in Room D10. Anybody may attend, and anyone who beats Mr. Bellware wins a custom-made chess board.
Former Winchell students who are graduating high school this month, please come to Winchell Elementary on May 23 around 3:15 p.m. in cap and gown, carrying a sign stating what you plan on doing in the fall (college, gap year, service, etc). The school will clap you out as we honor your graduation. Looking forward to seeing you – please pass the word. Parents are welcomed – we’ll try and have enough Kleenex for you.
AAC will be open today for tutoring from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the following rooms; English in D10, Math in B13, Science in B14, Social Studies in C19, Spanish in A18 and Study Hall in B22.
Thank you to everyone who picked up their yearbook at the Signing Party yesterday! If you ordered a yearbook but didn’t get it yesterday, please come to K3 before or after school to pick it up. Last night the men’s volleyball team defeated East Kentwood in the first round of districts. They take on Rockford in the district championship this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in Rockford. Great job on the win last night and good luck on Thursday!
The Archery Club will meet today after school. Please come to room C16 at 2:30 p.m. if you are interested in participating.
Seniors who are attending the Senior Trip, please turn in your permission slip as soon as possible. This is needed to attend the trip.
The Sword and Board club will meet Thursday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in room C16. All tabletop gamers and games are invited to join. We are specifically looking to build groups for Magic the Gathering and Pokemon TCG matches. If you play either of these games, please consider stopping by!
It is not too late to sign up for the Ireland and Scotland trip for 2025. Students who sign up by the end of May can receive $400 off the cost! Graduating seniors, you can also attend the trip! See Ms. Ward in D11 or Ms. Learner in the guidance office for more information.
The library will be closed due to AP testing. Books can be returned to the window outside of Ms. Lewis’s office. Students needing Chromebook help may use the hallway entrance into Ms. Lewis’s office during 1st, 3rd or 5th period.
All loaner Chromebooks must be returned to Ms. Lewis before the end of the school year. There will be a $305 fee for any that are not returned.
The Loy Norrix Esports club is holding another Pokemon tournament after school on Thursday, May 16 in Mr. Wood’s room, C19. You can sign up and see the rules on the Google Classroom by scanning the QR codes found in the hallways or using Google Classroom code u3wziea. If you have any questions, contact Mr. Wood.
