Kalamazoo in Bloom is a group of volunteers that raises money throughout the year for the planting day, which they do every year. They use volunteers from KPS schools, who spend the day planting, and get pizza after. Junior Dylin Nichols spent the day planting and said, “It’s really fun, and I’ve learned a lot. I didn’t know that you had to put mulch down after you planted.” The day gives an opportunity for students to work and learn, all while making the community more beautiful.
