How to Know If You Have Senioritis

After taking the ACT, filling out those long and strenuous college applications and finally getting accepted to the college of your choice it slowly creeps in. The nonchalant attitude as well as the countdown until graduation occurs. Some of the questions that you should ask yourself are:

1. Do you wear sweatpants every day?

“Everyone wears these to school.”

2. Have you already reached your absent/tardy limits?

“I can miss seven days and have three tardies.”

3. Are you procrastinating on every assignment?

“I will do it in my other class.”

4. Have you studied for anything?

“I already know this information.”

5. Are you ready to graduate?

The countdown could not be any longer.

If you have answered yes to 3 or more of these questions, chances are that you may actually be close to having senioritis, if you do not already have it.

Senioritis comes in many cases. It can start from the beginning of middle school, to your freshmen year when you just cannot wait to have that cap and gown with the principal handing you your diploma.

The way senioritis is shown varies. It can range from the string of missing assignments and failed tests to just not showing up at school at all.

If you or your friends have senioritis you should try to stop it. Colleges that may have accepted you are still checking you out to see if you can actually beat this disease. Once they see that you are starting to slack off they can easily take back their acceptance letter as quick as you received it.

There are cures for this if you are actually trying to get rid of senioritis.

1. Dress for success, with the occasional sweat pants outfit.

It is okay to wear sweat pants in moderation.

2. Come to school every day and on time, unless you have an excuse.

This is your last year in high school. You want to do as much as you can here.

3. Do your assignments on time.

Teachers do not like late work and you do not like making up assignments last minute.

4. Study for everything even if you already know the information.

The more you know, the higher the grade your grade will be and your GPA will soar.

5. Actually graduate.

Walking across that stage will be one the things that we will all remember the rest of our lives.

When it creeps up on you the best thing to do is shrug it off. You will have the whole time after you graduate to slack.
