This week is Spirit Week! Today is Pajama Day, Tuesday is Twin Day, Wednesday is Almost Throwback Thursday, and Thursday is Spirit Day.

There is no school this Friday.

The cross country teams fought hard in the SMAC Conference Meet this past Saturday at Lakeview’s Riverside Elementary Course. Both teams were projected to finish in the lower half of the conference and did better than expected with the girls finishing 5th and the boys 4th in their respective races. Earning all conference honors were Joy Hart with a 9th place finish and Ella Schnell with 3rd. Joe Meyers also was all conference with his runner-up finish. Lilly Daniels and Bella Ford ran season bests while Joy Hart, Georgia Hill, Kinsey Skjold, Myles Baker, Joss Brent, Simon Ford, Gryffin Hurley, Grant Kahler, Kaleb Miller and Gavin Roznac all had lifetime bests. They compete again 5 miles away at Portage West Middle School next Saturday for the Regional meet and a chance to go to the state finals. Go Knights!

Look around the grounds of Norrix and you will see the efforts of 14 Peacejammers, 1 Current Events students and 2 adults that spent collectively 34 hours cleaning the grounds of Loy Norrix so we can have pride in our building and the grounds.  Please clean up after yourself so it can stay clean and tidy.

Attention Potential NHS applicants: The informational meeting originally scheduled for today after school in Mr. Porco’s room has been moved to Wednesday after school.

The Overwatch team is next in action against Kensington Woods in Lakeland, MI Tuesday, October 22nd. The match will be streamed live on Twitch. To watch the match, log on to twitch.tv and search for Loy Norrix. If you have any questions about esports, please come see Mr. Greeley in B-13. Let’s go Knights!

Interested in playing softball? Our first softball offseason conditioning challenge is tomorrow, Tuesday October 22nd. Meet in the weight room every Tuesday and Thursday after school for 4 weeks. Bring a friend, get stronger and win prizes! See Coach Johnson in C12 for more information.

The annual Peacejam Pumpkin Painting Party will be tomorrow, October 22nd right afterschool in the cafeteria.  This is a chance to listen to Halloween music, have refreshments and paint a pumpkin.  When you finish you will decide what local agency you will give it to and then receive an extra credit coupon and a fast food coupon!  

Attention seniors! Senior photos and quotes are due to the Yearbook by December 1st! Email them to [email protected] or bring to room K3. A high quality JPEG photo is needed and quotes must be 100 characters or fewer and school appropriate. See Ms. English in K3 with any questions.

The Anti bullying club will meet the first Tuesday of the month starting Nov. 5th.

We would like to introduce a new club at Loy Norrix called INTERACT CLUB the major aim is to discover and equip young leaders in High schools and also support them to engage in community as well as international services.  Our slogan is: PROMOTING PEACE THROUGH SERVICE. We are working hand in hand with Peace Jam. There will be a Pizza Party on Wednesday October 23rd at 2:30pm in the Cafeteria. This Pizza party is opened to everyone who is interested in joining INTERACT CLUB.  Both INTERACT CLUB and PEACE JAM, will be hosting a BUNDLE UP KALAMAZOO drive. Students who are interested in this BUNDLE UP drive should also come to the Pizza Party.

Come to an informational meeting Oct. 29 right after school in M13 with Mr. Labadie to learn more about a new club at Loy Norrix…..LN Rock Climbing Club! No experience required, just a will to be challenged.
