Tomorrow, October 16th, is a half day.

After two wins on Thursday, October 10th, your Loy Norrix Esports teams are excelling in statewide competition. The Overwatch team has taken a strong hold of their division after a dominating performance last night against Kensington Woods and remain undefeated, sweeping all opponents two games to none. Congratulations this week to Jackson Kiino-Terburg, Cameron Green, Sophie Decker, Yancy Quinn-Cabrera, Evan Eldred, Elliot Russell, and Foster Neve-Jones. The Super Smash Brothers Ultimate team had their first loss on Tuesday, a tight 2 games to 1 match against Midland High school. Adam Ismaili-Alaoui won another match in dominating fashion, while Gabe Vroman and Kang Wee both played intense matches that went down to the wire. Both teams are in action again on Tuesday, with the Overwatch team playing against Midland high school and the Smash Brothers team playing against University of Detroit high school. Good luck to both teams!

Attention Students and teachers: We have a new “No Hall Pass List” with a long list of students.  If your name is on the list, you are not permitted to leave your classrooms without an escort.  Many of you ended up on the list due to excessive tardiness and absences.  The goal is for everyone to maximize instructional time and students can’t do that if they’re not in class.  Students can appeal at the end of the trimester.  Improved attendance and reduced tardies are two of the major factors that will be considered.

The Loy Norrix Counselors will be hosting a Financial Aid Night on Wednesday, October 16th during conferences.Representatives will be here to assist you and your parents with the FAFSA. Come join us in the library.

Just 3 more spots available for the Peacejam Kenya adventure.  Come learn about our safari, going to an elephant orphanage, doing community service and more at our Pot luck dinner this Thursday.  See Mrs. May or Mrs. Johnson Sharpe for information.

The next pick up for the clothing drive is this Friday.  In our effort to collect as many items to help others we have now collected 1,864 items.  The top 3 classes are as follows:

In 3rd place is Mrs. Carrow in 2nd place is Peterson/May and currently in 1st place is Mrs. Rolfe and her classes with 421 times.
