Loy Norrix Jazz Band is accepting new members! If you can read music, are interested in learning how to improvise and perform Jazz, Rock, or Latin music, join our band! We rehearse every Tuesday right after school. Rehearsals will start on October 26th in the band room. If interested, please contact Mr. Shebukhov or stop by the band room number J10 on Tuesday after school. Thank you to everyone who showed up at the Pumpkin Painting Party! A HUGE shout out to the students in D-11, M1A, afternoon CBVE, NHS, Key Club, and everyone who came to paint a pumpkin! This wouldn't have been accomplished without your help! Pumpkins were delivered to 43 agencies and cheer will be shared with many! Sword and Board will meet today in C16 from 230-330. All tabletop games and gamers are invited Chess Club meets today from 2:20-3:30 in computer lab D-10. Anybody may attend, and anyone who beats Mr. Bellware wins a customized chessboard. Seniors! The yearbook staff will be taking a senior class photo during first hour today, Friday, on the football field. Seniors will be dismissed to take the photo around 7:40 and will return to their first period class. The Results are in for the 2022 Executive Board officers! Your Loy Norrix High School Marching Band traveled to Battle Creek Central to perform at the Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association Marching Festival. Our Marching Knights were evaluated and assessed by a panel of 3 profession adjudicators in the categories of Music Performance, Marching Performance, and General Effect/Showmanship. All bands in the MSBOA Festival are rated on an impartial scale, of 1 being the highest and 5 being the lowest. For the 4th Festival in a row, your Marching Knights earned an Overall Division 1 Performance! Not only that, but they achieved Straight Division 1s rom all 3 judges! This is the highest rating any Marching Band can achieve. Well done, LNHS Marching Knights! Please come up to the school any time between 4:30-7:30pm with your guardian and all the required documents for filling out the FAFSA. Attention Junior and Senior Women The Powder Puff Football game is on for Thursday October 14th. You must sign up to play with Ms. Van Lieu in A-12 or Mrs. Fires. Practice is today Monday, October 11th and Tuesday October 12th at 5:30pm. Practice is on the back field behind the tennis courts. See Ms. Van Lieu for more details.
