Attention Key Club International members! This Tuesday, February 25 is our next meeting in room K10 at 2:30 pm. We will be voting for next year's officers. Any student who is going to compete in the ACT-SO competitions, needs to report to Ms. Van Lieu about their project. The deadline is approaching for presentations of any of the categories. Please report to A12 at any lunch. Attention 9th or 10th grade students: You should have received a letter at home about an upcoming presentation by the Kalamazoo County Health Department. If you have an "opt out" form from your parent or guardian you need to bring it to the Main office and put it in the box. Baseball tryouts will be on March 9, please see Coach Rickli in the Athletic office for important details. Attention Men’s Lacrosse players and prospective players: there will be a meeting at 6pm on Thursday, February 27 in the Kalamazoo Central cafeteria to meet the new coach. Anyone interested should attend and bring parent/guardians. Any questions, check in the athletic office. Attention Class of 2021: You have until Monday, March 2nd to turn in your submissions for our senior shirt and banner design. You can submit your designs by Google Docs, under Mrs. May's door, or in her mailbox! There are 22 Serious Fun Camps located around the world to help seriously and terminally ill children and 9 in the US. Donations will continue until Tuesday, March 3. Twenty five cents will get your name on the cafeteria window! We all have the responsibility to be respectful to the school environment that we spend most of our days in. Students are expected to pick up after themselves in the cafeteria, which includes keeping items of food at your own table, throwing away all trash items, and cleaning up any spills. Please help us keep our school looking good. Attention Teachers: Announcements are a vital way for students to receive important school information. Please ensure that when announcements are read, students are quiet and attentive. Attention Students: We understand that friends enjoy playing around at times in the hallway or during lunch. However, play-FIGHTING can be dangerous, not only to the person you are playing with, but also to those around you. If you are caught play-fighting, you may be suspended from 1-3 days. Additionally, running around the cafeteria or hallways is dangerous to others and is inappropriate during school. If you want to run in the hallway, see Coach S. after school. Saturday School will be in session this Saturday, February 22 from 9:00 to 12:00 am in room K16. If you have not served detentions or you have multiple instances of hoodie reminders, your Behavior Interventionist will be in contact with you on Thursday or Friday of each week. Hockey Fans, your Kalamazoo United Hockey team plays their last regular-season home game this evening at Wings West. Come pack the stands and cheer the team onto a win against the Mid-Michigan Marauders, a Lansing area united team. The puck drops at 5:15 pm. Loy Norrix Deca will have the second annual Talent show on March 15. Auditions are today, February 19, right after school in the J-wing. See you there! Attention Female Students! Happy Valentine's Day!!! Knights swimming and diving lost a close meet last night against KC, 95-88. Event winners included Joe Mitchell in 1 meter diving, Drew Dougherty in 100 Freestyle, the 200 free relay of VanHouten, Bynum, Biernick, and Balden; Evan Teal in the 100 Breast, and the 400 free relay of VanHouten, Harn, Wassink and Dougherty. Show your support next Tuesday as the Knights take on Portage Northern for senior night. There will be a Serious Fun Pick up today. We are now 1/2 way through this fundraiser for terminally and seriously ill children in developing countries! If you haven't donated yet - do know that every donation goes to helping these kids. After school gradpoint will be cancelled this week. Ms. Learner will post the February schedule on the K5W door. There will be no Chess Club due to professional development. There will be no AAC today. AAC will be open tomorrow, Thursday. Our totals for Serious Fun continue to grow to help seriously and terminally ill children. We have 5 more donation pickups left. We have collected $338.29 so far, last year we donated $2,400. The top 2 classrooms will have a pizza lunch. Loy Norrix hosted Coldwater last Thursday and won 127-55. Event winners included Evan Teal in the 200 Freestyle and 100 Breastroke, Drew Dougherty in the 200 I.M. and 100 Fly, Roman Wassink in the 50 Free and 100 Back, Keng Wee in the 500 Free, and Joe Bynum in the 100 Free. Next meet is against the Giants at Kalamazoo Central this Thursday at 6pm. Hope to see you there. A Shout out to all three levels of Men’s Basketball for completing the sweep against Gull Lake. Special shout out to Tyler Roberts for hitting the game winning three pointer as time expired. The team would like to thank the student section for coming out, cheering loud, and pushing us to a win. There is no AAC today. AAC will only be open Tuesday and Thursday of this week due to staff meetings. Latin and Travel Clubs are sponsoring a fabulous trip to Italy in 2021.
