Congratulations to the Loy Norrix HS Band, which this Saturday earned Straight Division 1 "Superior" Ratings at the Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association District Festival. All 4 adjudicators evaluated the LN Band at the highest level, and also awarded the band with 'all A's" in each sub-category. This is the 3rd year in a row the Band has earned "Straight 1s" at Festival, and the 5th year in a row over an overall 1st Division 'Superior' rating. Congratulations band members!

It’s game day for our boys Varsity basketball team! The Knights will take on Kalamazoo Central at 5:30pm today at PORTAGE CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL! The team and the athletics department is asking for everyone to come out and sit in the student section and be loud all game long! The theme is a black out! Once again it’s a 5:30pm tip off at Portage Central High School come wearing black!

Please congratulate Jackson Lam on his Indoor Track State Meet Performances. He individually qualified in the 1600 and ran his 3rd fastest time ever in 4:28. This was the 27th overall and 6th fastest underclassman time. He also helped his team by running the 800 in the Sprint Medley and the 1600 in the Distance Medley the first day. They finished 9th and 13th respectively.
Congratulations to our boys basketball on their 70-50 win over Portage northern! Senior Cedric Huntley led the way with 19 points, senior Leandre Braxton with 18 points and junior Julius DelaGarza with 10 points. The Knights will advance to the next round and play Rival Kalamazoo Central tomorrow at 5:30 pm at Portage Central High School! The basketball team is asking for a very loud student section to be in attendance tomorrow!

Congratulations to senior basketball player Cedric Huntley for scoring his 1000th career point for the Loy Norrix varsity basketball program last night against Gull Lake! The Knights also picked up a 69-63 win over Gull Lake. The next playoff game will be next Monday at 7:00 p.m. against Portage Northern, at Portage Central High School.

On Feb. 12, the Kalamazoo United Ski Team competed at Division 1 Regionals at Marquette Mountain. The team performed well against very good skiers from across the State of Michigan. They finished a record 5th place in the program, playing against teams from up north that had much more practice time.
