Celebrate National Reading Month in the Library with the March Madness of Book Characters! Will Katniss survive until the final? Will Gandalf cast the winning magic spell? Or will Luffy punch his way to the top? Fill out your bracket this week and return it to the Library by Thursday, March 7. Then vote for your favorite characters each week throughout March. The student with the most accurate bracket will win a prize. See Ms. C in the Library for your bracket!

Congratulations to the Loy Norrix HS Band, which this Saturday earned Straight Division 1 “Superior” Ratings at the Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association District Festival.  All 4 adjudicators  evaluated the LN Band at the highest level, and also awarded the band with ‘all A’s” in each sub-category.  This is the 3rd year in a row the Band has earned “Straight 1s” at Festival, and the 5th year in a row over an overall 1st Division ‘Superior’ rating.  Congratulations band members!

Attention all students ages 16 and older! The NHS blood drive is coming up. The blood drive will be held March 18, from 7:45 to 1:30, in the Auxiliary gym. Sign up is from March 4 to March 15 during all three lunches. At the lunches, you can also get information regarding height and weight requirements, as well as preparation and post-donation care. Donate blood and make a difference!

We are looking for anyone interested in running track to come out Monday, March 11th for the start of the spring season. We will still be meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays until exams. Do you do a fall sport but not a spring sport? Track is the perfect way to keep or get in condition for your primary sport. We are especially looking for people interested in trying new things like pole vault, jumping events, throwing events, sprints, and hurdles. Try it out! What have you got to lose?
