The 138 students that will be attending the Serious Fun Celebration Lunch today should bring their Serious Fun blue invitation to the 4 corners conference room today at 10:30 am. After going through the buffet line you will eat your lunch in Mr. Rashad's room. Thank you to ALL that donated to Serious Fun! Attention all students: Make sure you have reviewed your trimester three schedule. The last day that counselors will be taking schedule change request is today, March 9. Don't wait until the start of the new trimester if you need changes. Baseball tryouts are today, March 9. Stop in the Athletic office for more information. Softball tryouts begin today. Everyone needs to stop by the athletic office to get checked in - the earlier in the day the better. We will meet at 2:45 pm outside the girls locker room. Varsity golf tryouts will be today and March 10 at the Dome in Schoolcraft at 3:00 pm. JV golf tryouts will be the March 11 and 12 at the Dome at 3:00 pm. Graduating seniors will soon be donning their caps and gowns to walk across the stage for graduation. Following the ceremony newly graduated seniors are invited to celebrate with friends at Grad Bash, the all night event held at a secret destination. Don’t miss the chance to let loose and unwind after years of hard work and dedication. We are kicking off ticket sales during lunch from March 23 - 27. Purchase early in cash at a discount price of $35. All Senior Art Students who desired to be in the National Art Honor Society need to meet with Ms. Van Lieu in A12. The Loy Norrix swim and dive had a great performance this past weekend at the SMAC conference meet taking 5 overall and beating three teams they lost to during the regular season. Meet finalists include Izayah Balden, Alex Bosak, Joss Brent, Joe Bynum, James Harn, Nolan Hughes, Gryffin Hurley, Joe Mitchell, Tony Parlato, Erick Ponce, Evan Teal, Andrew VanHouten, Matthew Waltemyer, Roman Wassink, Keng Wee and Drew Dougherty earning 1st Team All-SMAC recognition Last night our divers competed in the MHSAA regional championships. Mitchell placed 14 and Ponce placed 11, qualifying himself for state. Ponce and Dougherty will compete next weekend at the MHSAA D2 State meet. Go Knights!! Chess Club meets today from 2:20 - 3:30 pm. Anybody may attend, and anyone who beats Mr. Bellware wins a customized chess board. The Interact club will be meeting today at 2:30 pm in the cafeteria. Ms. Christina, Rotary Club member will be in our meeting with spaghetti. Our community service at the Kalamazoo Gospel mission will be next Wednesday, March 11. Any and all interested students are welcome to join us. Ms. Learner will be running after school GRAD Point today from 2:30 - 4:30 pm in K5W. GRAD Point WILL NOT be held on Thursday this week. Wow, Loy Norrix as a school we will be donating $1.765.43 to Serious Fun for terminally and seriously ill children in developing countries. The Serious Fun effort to provide funding for terminally and seriously ill children in developing countries is almost ended- next Tuesday will be the last of the donation pick ups. WE currently have 54 classes participating and have collected $989.10 so far. As a school we have collected $922.30 which is 1/2 of what we did last year but are thankful for what we have donated so far to Serious Fun. We will have just 2 more pick ups this Thursday and next Tuesday. There will be a pizza lunch for the top 2 donating classrooms. Congratulations to the Men’s Basketball team on their win last night. Great team win. Top performers Quincy Ellis with 16 points and Daniel Wood with 12 points.
