Green School will meet on today in room B14. All are welcome. There will be no AAC today due to parent-teacher conferences. There will be an Esports Club meeting after school Thursday, Feb. 1 in Mr. Wood's room, C19. We will discuss the upcoming MiHSEF spring season, as well as our Mario Kart tournament and potential future events. If you are interested in joining us, come to C19 and find out more. The weight room is open for any athlete on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Do you find yourself admiring those brown and white Knight Life shirts, wishing you could have the super soft T or the cuddly crew that is softer than a dream, both sporting your favorite mascot, Artie the Aardvark? Well, you're in luck. During the week of Jan. 22, Knight Life will be taking shirt orders from any student or staff member during all three lunches. T-Shirts are $15 and crewneck sweatshirts are $20. The Sword and Board club will meet today in room C16 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. All tabletop gamers and games are invited to join.

If you are a sophomore currently taking regular or Advanced Placement U.S. History, representatives from KRESA will be coming to your class on Jan. 25 or 26 to present on next year's CTE opportunities. Mr. Ward and DECA have a special opportunity for students to see the Detroit Pistons play against the Los Angeles Clippers on Feb. 2. See Mr. Ward in K5C for permission slips. Preference will be given to former and current Business students. The wrestling team competed valiantly Wednesday night against Portage Northern and Portage Central, losing both matches 15-60 and 18-48. However, Caleb Burns and Dennis Allen-Wormack ran undefeated throughout the night. Athletes should be checking their email and logging their volunteer hours regularly. If you are a winter athlete, please make sure to vote for the movie you want to watch for our first athlete movie night.

Green School will meet today in room B14 after school. All are welcome! The wrestling team went 1-1 last night. They lost to Mattawan 24-49, then wrestled back to beat Battle Creek Central 45-33. Darik Smith, Wyatt Buddemeier, Jack Nicolai and Will Dominianni all remained undefeated throughout the night.  The weight room will be open after school today from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Last weekend, the bowling team competed against Gull Lake. The boys team won the first baker game and lost the second, but were able to get the total and the point. They won the first regular game by over 300 pins. Devin Harris led the way with 233 pins, while Hunter Conolly scored well with 213. Dylan Ashbaugh contributed an additional 211. They finished the 2nd game after pulling most of our starters, and won the match 17-14. The girls team lost the first baker game, but won the second baker game and split the regular games, ultimately winning 16-15. Bruna Santos led the charge and set personal bests with scores of 107 and 136 pins, while Zoe Wazny matched her with a 136 of her own. The bowling team is still seeking female bowlers: if you are interested, please contact the athletic office. GSA will meet Tuesday, Jan. 9, in room K1 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. There will be an important meeting for Youth in Government tomorrow, Jan. 9, after school in Mrs. Johnson's room, D18. If you are in Youth in Government, attendance is strongly encouraged. AAC will be open today from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. for tutoring in the following rooms: English in B11, math in M12W, science in B14, social studies in C19, Spanish in K12, and study hall in the library. The Travel Club is changing its destination: in July 2024, we will be traveling to the Galapagos islands and Ecuador. If you love animals, biology, beaches, snorkeling and a great adventure, be sure to email Ms. Learner in the counseling office and she will get an enrollment packet to you. Friday, Dec. 23 is Alumni Day! The Travel Club is changing its destination: in July 2024, we will be traveling to the Galapagos islands and Ecuador. If you love animals, biology, beaches, snorkeling and a great adventure, be sure to email Ms. Learner in the counseling office and she will get an enrollment packet to you. There is a discount and scholarship available for this trip. Students also can earn three free college credits if they enroll before the end of 2023. The Knights wrestled hard last night, battling Gull Lake to a 21-58 loss, and coming back to beat Battle Creek Lakeview 48-33. Dennis Allen-Womack, Darik Smith, Wyatt Buddemeier and Jack Nicolai were all undefeated throughout the night. Do you have a pet cat at home? Could your cat use a little enrichment? Ms. Ward's Career and Life Readiness class will be selling homemade cat toys with catnip during 2nd and 3rd lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the lunchroom until winter break. Staff, if you want to purchase a cat toy but are unable to make it to the lunchroom during lunch, please send Ms. Ward an email, and she will send students to you. Cat toys are $2 each. Did you get cut from a winter sport? Grades not good enough to do a school sport? Looking for a way to get or stay fit over the winter before spring comes? Come to indoor track practice. This is a running club that helps people be fit and healthy. We don’t just run: we throw, lift, jump, and do many things that make you more flexible, stronger, faster and leaner. We meet at the 4-corners on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 2:30 to 4:15 p.m. Distance conditioning is also held from 2:30 to 4:15 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. There is also an added bonus of competitions later if you are interested.
