College visits for this week are as follows:

  • Kalamazoo Valley Community College on Oct. 26

Please email your Kalamazoo Promise coach, Mr. Moore, to sign up to attend and get more information. Unfortunately, the previously scheduled visit from Calvin College has been canceled.

Do you need volunteer hours, or just want to improve your community? Knights of the Neighborhood is a club that represents Norrix in Kalamazoo. Our meetings are on Tuesdays from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in room B13.

There is an informational meeting about the Heyl Scholarship today at Western Michigan University for those interested in a nursing career. For more information, look for the flyers around the building or see Ms. Nelson in room D13.

The Travel Club is announcing the 2024 destination to be Scandinavia: Sweden, Denmark and Norway. In their 25th year of international travel, they would like to invite students and interested adults to join them in this adventure. The itinerary and information can be found at www.educationaltravel.com using trip ID Kalamazoo-2024. LN Counselor Rebecca Learner has more information on this adventure in the Counseling Office and will also be available in the library this week from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. A student/parent meeting is being planned for the 2nd week in November. Departure is July 1, 2024. Students are eligible for scholarships and can earn three free college credits.

Are you interested in sewing, knitting, embroidering, crocheting, and more? Come to A20 after school on Wednesdays, starting this week. No experience needed. There will be homemade baked goods. If you have any supplies, you’re welcome to bring them. Email Mrs. Corstange with any questions.

It’s the Great Pumpkin Painting Party, Loy Norrix! The 33rd annual Pumpkin Painting Party and 1st Fall Fest will be held Oct. 24 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Stay after school, paint a pumpkin and pick which community organization you want to receive your pumpkin. All pumpkins will be donated to local agencies to spread some fall cheer. Students who participate will receive an extra credit coupon to use in one of their classes. There will also be crafts and games.

There will be an Esports meeting Thursday, October 26, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Mr. Wood’s room, C19, to discuss our first school wide Esports activity. Everyone is welcome.

There will be no AAC today due to a staff meeting.
