Students - do you need help with selecting your classes for next year? All counselors will be in the cafeteria during all lunches on Thursday and Friday to assist you with your online course selection process. There will be no AAC this afternoon due to Parent-Teacher conferences.  There is no Chess Club today due to conferences. If you bought a ticket to the Winterfest dance, please see Ms. Van Lieu in A12 for your refund or today, Thursday and Friday during all 3 lunches.  Junior Executive Board members will need to work one of the Parent Conferences today or tomorrow. Officers will need to work both! Text Ben or Breyon so they will know what day you plan on attending. Attendance will be taken.  Did you go to El Sol or are you a Peacejammer or both or need community service hours? Tomorrow afterschool we will meet at Mrs. May's room right afterschool and go to El Sol to make Valentines for Veterans at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center. SSR is 2nd hour today. Are you interested in Dance, Movement, Choreography, and Music? The Loy Norrix Band's Colorguard Section is looking for new students! The colorguard is the only section of the band that you can be a part of if you don't play an instrument. We are having an "Open Spin" today, January 28 in J10 from 2:45 - 4:45 pm. There will be 2 visits to the Kalamazoo Nature Center, 2-3 college campus visits and 2 after school workshops. If you are interested, pick up an application in M14, Mrs. Young's room or K10 Ms. Nelson's room. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, January 31. The Kalamazoo United Alpine ski team competed in their first event with strong results. Team results include three top 10 finishes and individual success included first in boys Slalom and 4 additional top ten finishes. congratulations to team members Connor Ott, Ella Rathbun, and Mikayla Ide. There are 27 categories. ACT-SO is the youth division of the NAACP. You have the opportunity to be mentored in your chosen discipline. Gold Medal winners qualify to go to the national convention. Then philosophy club is for you! Each week we will be looking at the questions people are interested in answering and discussing them in a safe space. Chess Club meets today from 2:20 - 3:30 pm in Computer Lab D10. Anybody may attend, and anyone who beats Mr. Bellware wins a customized chess board.  It's time again to take a look at the AP classes we have here at Norrix. There will be an APeek day today, Wednesday, January 15.
