Sports reviews: Tuesday 9/14

The men’s tennis team took on Battle Creek Central, winning overall to make the team 3rd in the Central Division.  Coach Art Williams said, “It was an interesting match because Battle Creek Central is struggling this year.”  Tonight the team will take on Coldwater for the East Division Crossover match.

The JV soccer team played Portage Northern, dominating the soccer field throughout the game, and taking the win 1-0. Their record is now 5-1 overall.

The Varsity soccer team also played Portage Northern in an intense game that went into double overtime.  Freshman Jay McIntosh scored Norrix’s only goal of the game on a penalty kick in the first half.  With 15 minutes left in the second half, Portage Northern scored a goal to tie the game.  The team is now 1-1-1 in the Central Division and will take on Kalamazoo Central this Thursday.
