Loy Norrix soccer players workout and train for their upcoming season by playing indoor soccer, as well as training daily at school. Female student athletes have the opportunity to prepare themselves to have a good tryout when soccer season comes into full swing.

Members of the Loy Norrix women’s soccer team  take their season very seriously and they started training after winter break. This year, along with many previous years, soccer girls have been training in the weight room and also doing conditioning to prepare physically for tryouts.

The girls come together after school in the weight room on Mondays and Wednesdays. Anyone can come and work on their physical health and anyone can come tryout for soccer in the spring.

Another event that preseason has is indoor soccer at soccer zone. The girl soccer players made teams, so the girls planning on trying out are able to play indoor soccer against other teams. This gives players an opportunity to work on their skills and play competitively against another team.

Freshman Mara Vanderbeek said, “Indoor soccer helped me get back into shape.” She also said,  “I like indoor preseason because I get to meet all of the other girls.” She was able to learn names and players positions while playing indoors with the Loy Norrix girl soccer players.

Sophomore Georgia said, “Soccer training is hard but it’s going to help me prepare for the season.”

The women athletes are planning on participating in the Western soccer camp for working on their skills in the game. This will also get the girls an opportunity to get recognized by the varsity coach. Soccer tryouts are coming quickly and start March 9th.
