Congratulations to the following boys who made it to quarterfinals of the regional tournament held at Norrix. Two singles Tom Cole, three singles Trey Iocca, four singles Wes Baker, Two doubles Edoardo Meeci, Felix Vonye, three doubles Jaxon Grabaugh Sam Oberlee! #2 Tom Cole made it to the semi’s #3 Trey Iocca made it to the finals If there are any students interested in registering for the Portage Invitational cross country race for this Saturday, see coach Schmidt in K16. The 8:15 race is open to anyone, regardless of being on the cross country team or not. If you want to run a 5k, this is a great event filled with good people, good music, and good times. Our Norrix runners competed at the KRESA course on Tuesday for the last Jamboree of the season. In front of many friends and family on senior recognition day, your Knight cross country runners performed well. While the course didn't allow for great times, most kids placed better than projected. The women's team fell to Lakeview on a tie-breaker but due to beating them in the 1st Jamboree, tie for the divisional crown. Reaghan finished 3rd with a personal best time and Ana won the meet by over 30 seconds. The men's team finished third in the race and division. Big steps up were taken by Eli with a personal best, Cash, and Sam finishing much better than projected. Oskar also made a big jump finishing 7th overall.

You need to keep track of the whereabouts of your Chromebook, if you let someone use your Chromebook and they lose it or damage it, it is still your responsibility. Chromebooks are $320 and chargers are $20. So, Loy Norrix Students you will need to be conscious of your Chromebook and how you take care of it. Thank you to everyone who auditioned for Legally Blonde! It's amazing how many talented students we have at Loy Norrix. The cast list will be posted at 2:20 today. You can find it on Knight Life, the Performing Arts social media pages, and outside room J11. Our first rehearsal will be on Monday the 3rd or Tuesday the 4th based on your role. Please read the entire Cast List for further details. Tickets for the Homecoming Dance will be for sale today during all lunches for $5- they will be sold by the sophomore executive board members. There will be a DJ and refreshments. It will be a great night. The donut cart will be here in the Loy Norrix parking lot before the Homecoming Game, 5-7 tonight. This will be a fun and tasty way to help support the Loy Norrix Football Team Attention Boys Basketball players: We have started our fall workouts. Conditioning and open gym for the program will be Monday and Wednesday from 3:00-6:00 PM. If you need a schedule stop by the athletic office and any questions can be directed to Coach Moore located in the library Monday, Wednesday or Friday. Are you a senior considering pursuing science, math or nursing in college? Do you have a natural inclination and curiosity for science? If yes, we invite you and your parent/guardian to join us to learn more about the Heyl Scholarship to study Math or Science at Kalamazoo College or Nursing at WMU Bronson school of Nursing. Informational meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 18th at Kalamazoo College. See Ms. Nelson in room D13 for more information! Attention Juniors and Seniors: Are you fluent in multiple languages? Interested in obtaining the Michigan Seal of Biliteracy award? Email Ms. Holmes for more information. Your Cyber Knights are currently prepping for the CyberPatriot competition, which kicks off this October. Join us after school Tuesdays and Thursdays in M1, lower M-wing, to learn the craft and meet your fellow Cyber Knights. Seniors, it's college visit time! Stop by the counseling office before school, during lunch, or after school to sign up. Upcoming visits include: EMU, MSU, UofM, Hope, and WMU. Email your counselor if you have questions. Are you interested in joining the military after high school? There will be an Armed Forces Day on October 6th during lunches for you to get more information. If you're interested, please sign up in the counseling office. Do you have an interest in robotics? Well, we're looking for members to join the first robotics competition team here at Norrix, team 7658 Magitech (say as 76 58). If you have an interest in mechanical, electrical, or coding then this is just the right place for you. We meet on Tuesdays and Fridays after school until 5pm in room M-3.
