Have you heard? Our boys bowling team won their conference championship. Then last Saturday we went to regionals and finished 8th out of 18 schools for the team event. After a grueling day our missed the cut by only 234 pins. The boys made a great showing in the singles competition. Anthony Fotis came in 1st to become D1 Regionals champion and qualified for the State Finals. Followed by Haneef Hampton 39th, Devin Harris 48th, Hunter Conolly 64th, Jonavan Hare 72nd, and rounding up the top 100, Dylan Ashbaugh 77th. At the State Finals, Anthony grinded out all day and finished a respectful 18th out of more than 60 bowlers. Congratulations to Anthony and the boys team for a great season. On the girls side: The girls also had a great season, but, unfortunately plagued all season with missing bowlers to fill an entire team. But they showed great heart and never let that slow them down. Regionals team event: We finished 14th with only 3 girls. A very hard task. In the singles competition, they also made a good showing. Hope Dunn finishing 22nd, Zoe Wazny 39th, and Emma Lowry 78th. Thank you, bowlers, for a great season. We cannot ask for anything more than what you did. You fought hard all season and never gave up. -Coach Myke and Becky Big Congratulations to Sophomore Heaven Cole on her 2nd place finish at the MHSAA Individual Wrestling Finals at Ford Field this past weekend. Heaven lost to a tough girl from Clio, making Heaven the first girl to make it to the state finals in Loy Norrix history and placing 2nd, as the State Runner Up. Caping her season at 15-2. If you see Heaven in the halls, class or cafeteria congratulate her by giving a high five for a season well Done. Great Job heaven we are excited to watch you dominate the next 2 years. Let us help you use track to improve your performance for fall or winter sports. In the meantime, you can join one of the most successful teams Loy Norrix has to offer Congratulations to the Norrix boys bowling team. They are the conference champions for the 22-23 season. They concluded their undefeated season by defeating Niles on Saturday. The girls finished in 7th which is a huge accomplishment in itself since they played most of the games understrength, sometimes by 2 players. But that did not stop them from continuing to take at 1 or 2 points almost every week. Great job by both. This Friday and Saturday we have the regional tournament. Let's see if we can keep the momentum going.
