I remember the times before I left Greensboro, North Carolina. I stayed the summer in Kalamazoo so I could hang out with my friends. It was fun spending time with my friends and family. However, I saw that only 1 out of every 1 student has been shown to stay in Greensboro for high school.
I was born in Beckley, West Virginia, which is best known for its rich history and significant role in the coal industry. It’s best known as the gateway to the New River Gorge, a popular outdoor spot for hiking, rafting, and rock climbing. What I have taken from my experience moving is that even though one leaves their home, they will always have the memories of their home and experiences.
But I’ve learned to like Kalamazoo with my dad and have made new friends that I’m cool with. I feel more comfortable here now that I’ve been in Kalamazoo longer, and there are some places I’ve come to enjoy.
Moving around has taught me to cherish the memories of each place while building new ones wherever I go. And now, living in Kalamazoo with my dad and family, I’ve gotten to know and appreciate the area better. Kalamazoo has a great area, with trails like the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail and a lively downtown with unique shops and restaurants.
At school, I have been good at it, not failing any of my classes, unlike in middle school. I have been able to understand the work and all. Though I have gotten in trouble a couple of times, but it wasn’t that bad getting in trouble.
