Students Respond to Issue 4: Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor,

I think you did a really good job with this newspaper. I really like the topics and what was said. I didn’t actually read it or anything, but there’re some real nice pictures and there are a lot of words, so it must be good. Thank you for also including awesome Mediterranean pizza coupons.

Sincerely, Shiloh Waling

Dear Editor,

I read “Day-to-Day Life of a U.S. Marine.” I enjoyed how you captured the life that not many people know of. People don’t realize that the corps aren’t always guns a-blazing. You captured their life and eating habits. I thought it was interesting that Marines don’t have much living space. I can’t imagine how bad it would be.

Sincerely, Thatcher Jensen

The newspaper is very fun to read. I love how there are different things in it. It’s awesome when it has variety. Thanks for the Marine edition. I love reading the newspaper.

Maybe you should have a writers’ corner for people to submit their work, if you already have this I’d like to know where to sign up. Keep up the good work!

– Sarah Giramia

Dear Asia Davis,

I really like what you wrote about this. I think many people would like to read this because this is about the Marines and how they are helping our country. They have many people there and they have many people that want to join and I think that’s a very good thing.

Sincerely, Nijel Cole

Dear Editor,

I loved the whole idea of this newspaper focusing on Marines. It explains to us the life of a Marine, and their duties. Personally, I liked your Project Overview Letter from the Editor because it explains how and why you guys did this. Exchanging letters to Marines must have taken a long period of time and dedication to follow through with.

Sincerely, Megan Lohner

Dear Editor,

I read the article “Women’s Clothing in the Middle East.” I think it was cool to learn about other places. It shows not everyone has the same life. I think it is a good source of culture. It was very interesting to learn these new things. I think it’s cool they dramatize their eyes.

– Marjorie Wolf

I chose to write on the “Day-to-Day Life of a U.S. Marine.” This is by far one of the best articles I’ve read in Knight Life. This article had a lot of structure. I like that instead of using one sub-header you used one for each topic. The information in the paragraph was very helpful. I also liked how you compared their daily life to ours.

– Maia Greer

Dear Editor,

Overall, I think this issue was a great opportunity to educate people about America’s lesser known elite fighting force. Next issue, I think it’d be an awesome idea to honor former Loy Norrix students who joined the military, for example, my brother, Chris Peterman (Lance Corporal) who is currently stationed in California with USMC. I am now going to mail him this issue.

– Connor Peterman

Dear Editor,

You have a quite nice newspaper here. It looks very clean and professional and if I didn’t know, I would have guessed it was a local newspaper. I appreciate the raw information it contains and it really honors the marines. I also appreciate the ads and coupons. Thank you.

– Bronson Ehrnstrom
